Abstract The Associated Women for Pepperdine (AWP) was started in 1958 by Helen Young and a group of women united in their belief of the importance of Christian education. Edwards H. Metcalf was a collector, a Pepperdine University Board member, and a T.E. Lawrence enthusiast. He chaired the T.E. Lawrence Symposium in 1988 at Pepperdine University, which gave scholars the chance to discuss the life and works of T.E. Lawrence. The collection contains planning materials and documents from the symposium, as well as book collection records belonging to Metcalf.
