Scope and Contents
The Collection consists of documents produced and collected by the Office of the Provost and Provost Darryl Tippens, at Pepperdine University between 1974 and 2015. It is made up of alphabetically arranged subject files relating to many functions and interactions that went through the Provost's Office during Darryl Tippens time at Pepperdine. Documents cover a wide range of topics including, accreditation; faculty; LGBTQIA+ rights; internation studies programs; renovations; finances; policies and plans; student organizations; conferences; committees and day-to-day administrative issues related to organizational structure, tenure, budget, and events. The most common document in this collection is correspondence about any of these topics.
Within this collection, there are large groups of folders about, the Board of Regents, the Christian Scholars Conference, new faculty orientation, Glazer Institute for Jewish Studies, Graduate School of Education and Psychology, Graziadio School of Business and Management, International Programs, media, School of Law, School of Public Policy, Seaver College, strategic plans, tenure, and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
The collection also includes a couple of documents that speak about as early as the 1930's and as late as plans for 2020.
Additionally, many documents within the folders do not directly involve Darryl Tippens, but other activities, correspondence, and happenings relating to Pepperdine University.

Conditions Governing Access
Advance notice required for access. There are files that contain confidential information, and therefore access is restricted for 25 years from date of creation. The whole collection will be open in 2040.
