The series contains correspondence to and from library staff between 1937 and 2006, with the bulk of the material from 1937 to 1959. Letters are primarily concerned with library affairs, such as buying books, library policies, and other topics. Correspondents include Batsell Baxter (the first president at George Pepperdine College), Marian Wright, David Otis Kelley, M.P. Hinckley, Marian Pedigo, Pearl Ward, Robert Broadus, Dorothy W. Moore, Terry Leung, Robert Sanders, Harold Holland, Herbert Gore, and James Smythe.
