Rindge and Adamson Family Papers
The Jerry Rushford Papers
Blanche Ebert and Frank R. Seaver Papers
The collection contains the personal and professional papers of Frank R. and Blanche Seaver, philanthropists who greatly contributed to the evolution and success of Pepperdine University. The materials range from 1882 to 1996 and document Blanche's involvement with Pepperdine; Frank's business, the Hydril Company; Blanche's former career as a composer and musician; and their personal lives.
Ed and Mary Shafer Family Photographs
The Shafer family owned and operated the Cloverleaf Ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains from 1946 to 1964, raising cattle and stocking man-made lakes with trout for public fishing. The Shafer land is now part of Malibu Creek State Park. The digital collection contains photographs of the Shafers' ranch, home, and Trout Lakes, as well as two articles about the Shafers' cattle and Trout Lakes, respectively. Materials date from 1948-1961.
Loyd C. Sigmon Papers
The collection contains materials created by or about Loyd C. Sigmon from 1945 to 2008. Items relate to his interest in radio broadcasting, the creation of SigAlert (a traffic and emergency alert system), and his inventions. Books, plaques, articles, newspaper clippings, biographical materials, blueprints, and notebooks, are found within the collection.
Student Government Association (SGA) Records
The collection contains materials produced by and related to the Student Government Association (SGA) at Pepperdine. Items in the series include the SGA constitution, meeting minutes, photographs, event fliers, surveys sent to students regarding campus issues, and the minutes of the SGA's President's Advisory Council. Materials in the collection range from 1967 to 1997.
Hugh M. Tiner Papers
The collection contains materials related to Hugh M. Tiner, first dean and second president of George Pepperdine College and member of Rotary International. Items include subject and correspondence files (biographical materials, certificates of appreciation, ephemera and photographs, speeches and publications, radio program transcripts, and travel ephemera); newspaper clippings; plaques; and memorabilia.
Lena Torslow Hansen Papers
Lena Torslow Hansen is a Danish ceramic artist and Scandinavian arts advocate. In 1981,the Franciscan Friars of the Serra Retreat commissioned Torslow Hansen to design installations of fire-salvaged Malibu Tile at the Serra Retreat. This collection documents Lena Torslow Hansen’s work from planning diagrams and research on the Serra Retreat, Malibu Potteries, and the Adamson House at the Serra to photographs of the installed tile.
Travel Photos - China , 1993
The bulk of this file consists of five folders of photographs of M. Norvel Young and Helen Young on their trip to China along with a menu from the Pepperdine University Dinner Party in Hong Kong and two postcards from Amigo restaurant in Hong Kong.
Tyler Ecology Award Records
The collection contains materials related to the Tyler Ecology Award, including award banquet programs, newspaper clippings, financial records, photographs, and an oversized scrapbook for the award years 1973 through 1979. Also included are photos of John and Alice Tyler (the award's founders) and a memorial speech for John Tyler given by M. Norvel Young. Materials range in date from 1971 to 1981.
