Scope and Content
The collection consists of inter-office memoranda and correspondence sent by or to Interim Provost, Nancy Magnusson Fagan, during her six-month term as Interim Provost. Topics include preparation for WASC reaccreditation, the annual faculty conference, tuition costs, the search for a Director of Libraries, sabbatical requests, department budget proposals, faculty housing issues, promotion announcements, and meeting notices for various Pepperdine committees.

Historical note
Nancy Magnusson Fagan served as Interim Provost from January 1993 to June 1993 while Pepperdine searched for a replacement to fill the vacant position. When Steve Lemley filled the vacant role in July 1993, Nancy resumed her role as Dean of the Graduate School of Education and Psychology.
The Provost is the chief academic officer of Pepperdine University and has responsibility, under the President, for the administration, coordination and development of all academic activities and functions of the University. He/She works with the deans of Pepperdine's five schools on all issues related to the effective planning and management of the university's academic resources. In addition, he/she is directly responsible for the University's Disability Services Office and the office of the University Chaplain.
