Scope and Content
The collection consists of printed materials and photographs related to the Year-in-Europe (YIE), travel study, and other programs offered by Pepperdine. Printed materials include correspondence related to the founding of the Year-in-Europe programs in Heidelberg, Germany; general correspondence about international programs; press releases and articles; brochures for YIE, travel study and international summer advantage programs; postcards; memorabilia; internship information for the London program; an account of living in the Moore Haus for five months in 1956, by Mary Williams Schaller (while it was still owned by the US Army); and a scrapbook of the first YIE class in 1963-1964 documenting their time in Europe as well as their later accomplishments upon returning to Pepperdine. Also included in the collection are a number of photographs and slides including pictures of faculty members; various trips taken by students of a number of European locations; group photographs from current students as well as alumni reunions; Moore Haus in Heidelberg; the London house before the renovations in 2009; the Florence house and various trips around Italy; and miscellaneous photographs of students both studying and traveling. Materials in the collection range from 1955 to 2011
