2. Royal Bay, 1963 September 29

Once Before Dark, was a pilot episode written by Richard Alan Simmons and produced by Stanley M. Kallis. The episode was meant to be part of a 60-minute series called Royal Bay. The pilot was rejected, so producers sold it to Universal Pictures under the name Della. The end result was a 70-minute feature which was also unpopular and only aired once at 1:00 am. In 1996, Della was rediscovered and publicly released on video under the name Fatal Confinement. Joan Crawford plays Della, while the film’s other stars include Charles Bickford, Diane Baker, Paul Burke, and Otto Kruger.
